Much of our work focuses on uncovering the function of neural circuits. Our overarching goal is to discover how neural circuits in the neocortex, basal ganglia, and thalamus contribute to sensorimotor integration in health and disease. Our research spans a range of scales from single neurons and microcircuitry to cortex-wide physiology and whole animal behavior. Our studies are backed by cutting-edge analytics leading to the discovery of fundamental insights into the function of the central nervous system.
